Wardlaw Named Esports Skipper

Brenden Wardlaw has been named the new Interim Head Coach of Esports at Coastal Bend College. He will be directing the program, leading recruiting, overseeing the arena on campus and in charge of staffing for the program including coaches and media staff.

Wardlaw comes to the Cougars from Davenport University, where he was a three year captain on the Rocket League team posting over 150 wins, and bringing home three championships. He also spent time as a coach for Cloud9 Training Grounds, running classes and coaching High School players. Wardlaw hopes to bring his competitive expertise to Coastal Bend College Esports. 

In their first season as a program, the Cougars have already shown their meddle having had their Call of Duty Team on National Broadcast, and saw Alex Burbach reach the NJCAAE National Semifinals in NBA 2K21 and Owain Parker capture the NJCAA FIFA21 National Championship in early December.
