The No. 15 New Mexico Junior College volleyball team swept Coastal Bend College in three sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-13).
The T-Birds breezed through the Cougars Saturday morning behind an impressive performance from libero Addison Carillo who finished with a 20 digs.
Outside hitter Gaby Arias recorded 16 digs and six kills in the three-set win over Coastal Bend. Setter Taina de Lima Nunes tallied 18 assists and eight digs.
Outside hitter Iva Popovic registered nine kills and 11 digs in the win over the Cougars. Setter Sude Omerickoglu finished with 17 assists and seven digs.
The Thunderbirds move to 3-0 on the season and will play this afternoon at 12 p.m CDT against Wharton County Junior College.
