Volleyball Splits in Coastal Bend Tri-Match

The CVC Lady Suns Volleyball Team split in their outing in Beeville, Texas over the weekend against the Coastal Bend Cougars and Laredo Community Palominos. The Lady Suns defeated Coastal Bend in four sets (21-25, 25-20,25-22,25-20) and fell to Laredo in straight sets (14-25,17-25,22-25).

In the win over the Cougars, Jasmine Davis and Samantha Hernandez once again tunred in double-doubles. Davis had 15 kills, 12 digs, four blocks, while Hernandez had 35 assists and 14 digs. Kayla Lansford had a stat line of nine kills, three service aces and two blocks, with Mallorie Brooks adding 21 digs and six kills.

In the loss to Laredo, Hernandez had her second double-double of the afternoon with 24 assists, 10 digs, and two aces. Amaya Saenz had a team-high nine kills. Brooks and Davis combined for 32 digs.

Cedar Valley returns to Dallas Athletic Conference play on Monday when they travel to Mountain View.
