Truly saving his best for last, Cougar sophomore closer Trent Sholders finished last week with three appearances, 3.1 innings of work and three saves, including the one which gave Coastal Bend College its first-ever Region XIV Championship.  That performance was worthy of being named the NJCAA Division III National Pitcher of Week.

Sholders becomes the second Cougar to capture NPOW honors this season, following Marco Becrril in the opening weeks of the season.  Sholders leads NJCAA Division III in saves with 13 after picking up another save in yesterday's District C East Divisional Tournament opening win over Mountain View College.
