Four Cougars Selected to Junior College All-Star Game

Coastal Bend College Baseball will be sending four student-athletes to this year's 2022 Texas-New Mexico Junior College All Star Game in Dallas, Texas.  CBC Pitcher, Cobe Reeves, Pitcher, Preston Allen, CBC First Baseman/Designated Hitter, Eric Martinez, and CBC Outfielder, Keagan Solomon have been selected to represent Region XIV South.

CBC Pitchers, Allen and Reeves will be participating in the event for the second year in a row. Both players are the only players in Coastal Bend College history to be selected two years in a row.
 
Left Handed Pitcher, Cobe Reeves who was an All-Conference pitcher last Spring will be the opening day starter as Region XIV South will be playing against Region V North. Reeves made 14 appearances for the Cougars this season, 11 of which were starts. Reeves won a total of four games and pitched six complete games. The Ingleside native pitched a total of 67.2 innings, surrendering 67 hits and 40 walks while striking out 85 opposing batters. Reeves gave up only one home run on the year and recorded a 3.06 era for the 2022 season
 
Right Handed Pitcher, Preston Allen started 12 games on the bump for the Cougars this past Spring, pitching a total of 65 innings. Allen accumulated 46 strikeouts and surrendered 20 walks for his second season at Coastal Bend. The Surgarland native posted four wins for CBC. The former All-American pitcher will pitch game two against Region V West.  
 
Also starting game, one will be All Conference First Baseman/Designated Hitter, Eric Martinez who slugged 10 home runs last year. Martinez competed in 49 games for CBC during the 2022 campaign. Martinez hit .297 from the dish, while holding a slugging percentage of .568. The Edinburg, TX native led the Cougars in both home runs and RBI's with 10 and 47, respectively. Martinez posted a fielding percentage of 987 on the year.
 
Cougar Outfielder, Keagan Solomon who hit .364 with Seven home runs last Spring. Solomon racked up 31 RBI's and scored 27 runs during his freshman campaign. The Leander native competed in 33 games for the Cougars. 
 
The 2021 NJCAA Division III South District - Coach of the Year, Brian Bauerle from Coastal Bend College will also join the coaching staff of Hall of Fame Coach Tom Arrington (San Jacinto College) along with Assistant Coaches, Kory Koehler, (San Jacinto College) and Kevin Lallman (Galveston College).
 
Game one of The Texas-New Mexico All Star Game will be Friday September 23rd, 2022 at 6:00 PM followed by Game two Saturday, September 24th, 2022 at 11:00 AM. The All Star Games will take place at Horner Ballpark, on the Dallas Baptist University campus.
