Men's Basketball Eclipses the Century Mark Versus Victoria; Moves to 3-0 on the Season.

The large, partisan, crowd in attendance on Monday evening at Coastal Bend College's Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center saw what looked more like a track meet than a basketball game, as the Victoria Community College Pirates and CBC Cougars raced up and down the court, attempting three-point baskets with near reckless abandon.

The bad news for the Pirates was that CBC's Malik Amos' three-point attempts found their mark eight times as he scorched the visitors of 30 points securing the 103-87 victory.  Wide open, covered and in double coverage, Amos hit three after three.  Each time the Pirates fought their way back into the game - being down as many as 22 points early in the second-half - an Amos shot would find its mark and quash the VCC rally.  Amos did most of his damage in the second half hitting seven of his attempts, including a perfect six for six from long distance.

Amos wasn't the only Cougar who played the role of poor host to Victoria, Dajuan Madden tacked on 14 pts and grabbed four rebounds, while Rashon Thomas added 11 points and Calvin Woodson added another 10.  Bernard Randle added three three-pointers of his own to collect 10 points and dished out a team high five assists.  Edmond Franklin served as Mr. Clean grabbing a team-high eight rebounds.

The Cougars head west this coming weekend to participate in the South Plains College Texan Classic, before returning to Beeville on Tuesday, November 14th when they host San Antonio College at 5:30 pm.
