Cougars Come Up Short Versus Kilgore

Kilgore, Tx- For the second conference game of the season, Coastal Bend faced the Kilgore College Rangers on Wednesday, December 4th. The Cougars looked to build off their previous game, where they beat the Mountain View College Lions on the road.

In the first half of the game, CBC would be in a tight and highly competitive contest versus Kilgore. By the end of the first half, the Cougars trailed the Rangers, 40-42.

As the second half of play started up, so did the Cougars. Coastal Bend gained momentum and led most of the half with scoring contributions from Emmanuel White, Lance-Amir Paul, and Desmond McNiel. Late in the game, the Rangers cut into the Cougar lead, tying up the game. Coastal Bend had back to back defensive lapses, allowing Kilgore to take the lead and win the game, 70-74.

White finished the contest as the games leading scorer with 25 points and four rebounds. Guard, Desmond McNiel provided a huge spark off the bench for CBC with 15 points, shooting 4-8 from deep. Point Guard, Lance-Amir Paul racked up 13 points and dished out six assists on the evening.

Coastal Bend moves to 5-6 overall on the season and 0-2 in Region XIV Conference play. The Cougars will be back in action at Home as they host Paris Junior College at 4:00 PM for a conference matchup.
