Beeville, Tx-  Coastal Bend Men's basketball hosted #14 nationally ranked, Panola College on Saturday, January 11th. The Region XIV Conference game tipped off in the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center in the late afternoon. 

To begin the game, the Cougars jumped out to an early lead. The visiting Ponies then rallied about midway through the first half to keep the contest close. CBC went on to trade buckets with Panola, and hit a buzzer beater right at the end of the first half from Lance-Amir Paul. The Cougars led the Ponies at intermission, 36-39 with the mid range shot. 

As the second half of play commenced, Coastal Bend buckled down for a highly competitive battle from the Ponies. The Cougars weathered the storm well from Panola, the team did bend, but did not break. CBC played well to finish the game, hitting free throws, making shots and limiting second chance opportunities for the Ponies. 

The final buzzer hit, as the Cougars took down the Ponies, 80-86. Coastal Bend ended their losing three game losing skid with the victory over Panola.

Coastal Bend Center, Elijah Moleon lead the team in scoring with 21 points and snagged down 11 boards to complete a double-double. Forward, Eric Conner also recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. CBC's Emmanuel White swished in 14 points while adding four assists and three rebounds for the Cougars. Point Guard, Lance-Amir Paul netted 16 points while dishing out seven assists, six rebounds and two steals to his stat line. Guard, Kendrick Christian chipped in eight points, three assists and three rebounds off the bench for CBC. 

CBC improves their overall record to 7-10 and moves to 1-6 in conference play. The Cougars next game will be on Wednesday, January 15th as they play Lamar State College in Port Arthur, Tx for a Region XIV contest.
