Cougars Grind Out Win In Victoria

Victoria, Tx-  This past Saturday, the Coastal Bend College Men's Basketball team traveled 60 minutes east for a Region XIV Conference Game vs Victoria College. The Cougars had been on a four game losing skid until this most recent contest.

To begin the game, the Cougars and Pirates both took their fair share of turnovers and mishaps. CBC would go on a run, but then came VC fighting their way back into the game. Coastal Bend managed to take a small lead into intermission, 49-43. 

In the second half of the game, it was more of the same kind of play from the Cougars and Pirates. Though, CBC rallied together and put the game out of reach for the Pirates. Coastal Bend won their second conference game of the season, 97-85 over Victoria College.

CBC Center, Elijah Moleon lead Coastal Bend in scoring with 22 points by hitting all 10 field goal attempts. Forward, Eric Conner contributed 14 points and nine rebounds to with four assists for the game. Guard, Emmanuel White swished in 11 points and snagged down nine rebounds while giving out five assists. Freshman Guard, Kendrick Christian added nine points, three rebounds and three assists for CBC. Kenneth Lee knocked in eight points during the game, going two for three from long range. Lee also statted three rebounds and three assists.

Off the bench, Lance-Amir Paul came up huge with 19 points and a game high, eight assists. Paul also recorded three steals and two blocked shots for his stat line. Donovan Deal also had a solid performance off the bench with 10 points. 


The Cougars currently possess an overall record of 8-14 on the season as they move to 2-10 in conference play.  CBC Men's Hoops will be back in action on Wednesday, February 5th as they host Angelina College for a Region XIV Conference contest. Tip-Off is scheduled for 7:30 PM in the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center.
