Cougars Claw Jaguars; Win Second Game In A Row

Beeville, Tx-  On Saturday, February 15th the Coastal Bend College Men's Basketball program hosted fellow Region XIV opponent, Jacksonville College. The Cougars were looked to add another win versus tough competition. 

The Cougars started the game out hot, hitting shot after shot, inside and outside. Coastal Bend took a 28-44 lead over Jacksonville at halftime. 

In the second half, the Jaguars came out with more energy, but the Cougars did not lose composure as they stayed the course and played as a unit on both ends of the floor. The Cougars outscored the Jaguars, 30-36 in second half to maintain the scoring difference and win the game. 

Both Elijah Moleon and Lance-Amir Paul led the Cougars in scoring with 17 points a piece. Moleon finished the game with eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Paul recorded four rebounds, four assists, and three steals for his stat line. Guard, Kendrick Christian added 14 points for CBC while dishing out a team high, five assists. Forward, Eric Conner chipped in 11 points for Coastal Bend, corralling seven boards and two steals. Emmanuel White swished in 10 points and recorded two steals for the game. The starting five for Coastal Bend all reached double figures for the bout against Jacksonville. 


Coastal Bend beat Jacksonville, 58-80 to win their second straight conference game. The Cougars improve to 10-16 overall and 4-12 in conference play. CBC will be back in action on Wednesday, February 19th as they will travel to Brenham, Tx for a Region XIV matchup with Blinn College at 7:30 PM in the Kruse Center.
