This weekend Coastal Bend College Softball faced Galveston College for a Region XIV Conference doubleheader. The Cougars started Lydia Clarke in the circle. In the first game, Galveston put two runs on the board in the first inning. The Cougars continued to fight back, but unfortunately left runners in scoring position. In the third and fifth innings Coastal Bend put two runs on the board, however, Galveston answered back by scoring two runs in the third and fourth innings. Leaving the final score to be 4-2 in favor of Whitecaps.

Emily Michki recorded two rbi's in the first game against Galveston. Alexis Valdez would hit a triple on the day. Jamie Morales hit a double and scored a run. Mirella Guevara recorded a single, scored a run while also stealing a base. 

Clarke pitched two complete innings, allowing one walk, two hits and striking out three Whitecaps. Alexis Valdez pitched five complete innings, allowing 10 hits, one earned run with a total of four runs that scored. 

After the first loss, Coastal Bend did not give in. The Cougars decided to go with Valdez in the circle. They continued to fight back putting up 3 runs in the first two innings; however, Galveston tied up the game in the second inning. The two teams continued to battle head to head, until the Cougars broke the tie in the fourth inning with a lead of one run. Valdez proceeded to shut out the Whitecaps for the rest of the game and giving Galveston their second conference loss of the season.  

Katathina Rangel would hit a double for two rbi's on the day. Morales hit a single up the middle for an rbi and also stole a base. Kirstie Soto would hit a double in the second game.

Valdez pitched a complete game, alllowing five hits, two walks, two earned runs and four strikeouts in her seven innings of work. 

Coastal Bend College Softball will be having Sophmore Day this Friday, April 20th as they face against Lamar State College- Port Arthur for a Region XIV Conference doubleheader. First pitch is at 1:00 PM. This is will be the Home Finale for CBC Softball this season.
