Roland Salazar was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. Raised in Beeville, Texas where he attended A.C. Jones High School and also participated in basketball, football and baseball.  Upon graduation he studied at Coastal Bend College. In his spare time, he enjoys refereeing high school football games on friday nights, and playing fastpitch softball on the weekends. 

Salazar has recently been named the Head Coach of the Cougars. Prior to being named to the Head Coaching position, Salazar was the Interim during the Spring of 2021. He been apart of the coaching staff for over six years and had been an asssistant coach full time during the Fall of 2020. The Beeville native recently retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system where he serviced over 25 years for TDCJ and now enters his 6th year with the Cougar Softball Program.
