The Coastal Bend College Women's Basketball team is ready to build upon the successes of the previous season with the addition of a new Assistant coach, Josline Hernandez. With this fresh coaching perspective, they aim to take their game to the next level.

Key returners, such as Ja'Nyla "LaLa" Kennedy, JayDee Zamora, and Jordan Shephard played crucial roles in the team's performance last year and will continue to be vital components for the squad. Their experience and leadership on and off the court will be instrumental to the team's success.

Forward, Ja'Nyla Kennedy competed in 29 games for the Cougars last year, starting in 16 of those games. She averaged 6.5 points per game and four rebounds per contest.

Guard, Jaydee Zamora, competed in 29 games during her freshman campaign. The Alice, TX  native averaged 5.8 points per game, three rebounds and two assists for the season.

Jordan Shephard, a Point Guard from San Antonio played in all 30 games for the Cougars. She averaged 5 points per contest during her first year at Coastal Bend.

In addition to the returners, there is excitement surrounding the new players, particularly Eliza Rodriguez and Tyra Thompson, who are expected to make a significant impact. The freshmen guards have plenty of talent and energy that will contribute to the depth of the team's roster.
