Coach Hernandez is entering her first season assisting Head Coach Nathan Purswell and the Cougars women's basketball program. Before this, Hernandez attended Schreiner University where she also played basketball collegiately and was given an extra year of eligibility due to COVID-19.

At Schreiner, she was a 5-year starter for the Mountaineers and earned outstanding academic performance every year. After graduating with her Bachelor's in Science in 2022, Hernandez returned to Schreiner to continue her education and final season. During her final season, Hernandez earned 2nd team all-conference award and the SCAC Elite 19 award. This award is meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored sport, as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement.

She also shot an outstanding 40% from the 3pt line and helped lead her team to a school record for the most wins in a season for the women’s basketball program at Schreiner University. Hernandez completed her Master's in Education in the spring of 2023.  

Hernandez comes from San Antonio, TX where she attended Karen Wagner High School and was raised by her father Isidro Hernandez. Alongside was her twin sister Jaqueline Hernandez and younger brother Jesus Hernandez.
