Volleyball Wins Two To Even Record

The CBC Cougar volleyball team rallied after two dissappointing performances at Navarro College on Wedesday, by winning matches at Mountain View College in Dallas on Thursday.

CBC tangled with the host Lions of MVC winning a five-set thriller 25-14, 25-15, 18-25, 19-25, 15-11 in their first match on Thursday.  Sophomore outside hitter, Christina Montez went off for the cougars banging down a match high 14 kills on 26 swings (.461 hitting percentage) while corraling 15 digs.  Sophomore, right side hitter, Robyn Young chipped with eight kills on 18 swings, while freshman, Tejia Jones made the most of her first start in her hometown as scored nine points (five blocks, two service aces and two kills).

Montez kept the hot hand through the Cougars second match of the day as they defeated Ranger College in knock-down-drag-out four-set match 25-23, 26-24, 19-25, 26-24, as she pounded down 18 kills, recorded a .483 hitting percentage, scored four services aces, while scooping up 12 digs.  Freshman Libero collected a team high 19 diges.  Jones also added six kills, five service aces and four blocks in her impactful home coming.
