The third time was not the charm for the Cougars on Tuesday night.  It was the third time the Cougars have played the Pirates of Victoria Community College - this being a rescheduled contest from early September when Hurricane Harvey forced the cancelation - and for the third time Victoria was too much for CBC, taking the match in straight sets, 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.

Christina Montez hammered down 14 kills on the night to lead the Cougars offensively.  It was the 11th time this season that she has reached double-digit kills.  Freshman Lindsay Garibay racked up eight kills in limited front row action, as she works her way back from an injury.  That injury didn't impact her in the back row as she gobbled up 11 digs and recorded two service aces.  Sophomore Ashlynn Goff led the defensive charge for Cougars corralling 17 Pirate shots.

The Cougars will be back in action on Thursday night when they host Palo Alto College of San Antonio at 6:00 pm.
