Though the volleyball season is complete, the program continues to make history in the form of All-Region accolades as voted upon by the coaches. Alyssa Hutcheson becomes only the second female Cougar student-athlete to reach All-Region XIV-South First-Team Honors. She joins Zandra Emanuel who was an All-Region XIV First-Team selection from women's basketball in 2015-2016.
"Hutch" the freshman, libero out of Graham (Graham High School) led the team and Region XIV in digs (720) and digs per set (6.32). Her 720 digs is a new record for Coastal Bend College. She ranked second in the NJCAA Division I in digs per set and was third in total digs. Coastal Bend College finished the season leading NJCAA Division I in digs per set with 20.63.
Hutcheson joins teammates Emma Batte, Samantha Santas, Cameron Del Angel and Lindsay Garibay on the All-Region XIV- South teams as they were named Second-Team and Honorable Mention. The five total selections are the most ever for the Cougar volleyball program.
