On Friday the Lady Cougars opened up with Frank Phillips College. Consecutive kills from the plainsmen gave them an early lead and the momentum swung in their favor. Coastal Bend fell to Frank, 1-3; 17-25, 25-16, 23-25, 20-25. CBC standout for the series was Cameron Del Angel with 13 kills.

Here's what Head Coach Olness had to say about the weekend's events: "Our first game against North Lake we played really hard and were able to shut down their defense with great serves, hitting and blocking. Our game against Frank Phillips was one of the toughest match up we have faced this season. They are a smart team and they were able to predict our every move and the next morning we went up against Cisco and they are a similar team as us. We played very hard this past weekend and we are ready for our tri-match today and our upcoming game on Friday." The team is back in action Wednesday, September 4th for a Tri-match against Temple College and Richland College starting at 2:00 pm. They are back home on Friday September, 6th to take on Northeast Lakeview College at 6:00 pm.
