Cougars Fall to the Palominos in Regional Semi Finals

Beeville, Tx-   The Coastal Bend College soccer program fell to the Laredo College Palominos on Wednesday, October 30th in a Penalty Kick Shootout. In the conference play during the regular season, both clubs split the season series, as the Home team would end up being victorious. 

During the first half of the match, both clubs battled the cold and wind. Laredo and Coastal Bend finished the first 45 minutes of play tied up at 0-0, after going scoreless. 

Within the first six minutes of the second half, CBC's Emile Rudd scored the matches first goal. Ryan Lewis assisted Rudd's goal for the Cougars to take the lead. Moments later, the Palominos tied up the game in the 65th minute. 

For the remainder of the match, both teams fought diligently to take the lead but regulation ended in a tie. In overtime, two, ten minute halves would be played, or until the first goal scored. Again, both CBC and LC kept up their level of competition, but ended both overtime halves, scoreless. 

The match headed into a Penalty Kick Shootout where Laredo edged out Coastal Bend, four goals to three on five shots. CBC concludes their season with a 6-8-1 record.
