Victoria, Tx- Earlier this Fall semester former Coastal Bend Soccer Student-Athlete, Oliver "Ollie" Nugent was named the Red River Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year. The University of Houston-Victoria Cougar was honored with several other teammates for their play on the pitch. 

For his junior campaign, Ollie started in 17 soccer matches for UHV. He scored seven goals and recorded three assists for 17 points on the season. Ollie also scored two game winning goals during the 2019 season.

Nugent was a key contributor to the Cougars success this past season, helping them win the RRAC Championship. The Cougars went on to complete the season with a 16-1-3 record.

The England native produced six goals, four assists and had 19 points during 23 soccer matches at Coastal Bend. Prior to attending the University of Houston-Victoria, Ollie graduated in the Spring of 2019 with an Associates of Arts Degree. He is currently majoring in Kinesiology while at UHV.
