Beeville, TX – On Thursday, October 30th, the Coastal Bend College Men's Soccer team displayed a commanding 3–0 victory over Jacksonville College in the Gulf South District Quarterfinal Match. The win secured the Cougars a spot in the District Semifinals, where they will face #1 seeded and nationally ranked Tyler Junior College on Tuesday, November 4th, at 6:00 PM in Tyler, Texas, at Pat Hartley Field.
Goalkeeper Tim Teicher once again anchored the Cougar defense, producing his latest clean sheet of the season with eight crucial saves to keep Jacksonville off the scoreboard. Teicher and company have now produced eight shutouts on the season. After a tightly contested first half, the match remained scoreless until Juan Valencia Vacca broke through midway through the second half, finding the back of the net off an assist from Juan Pablo Vargas and Charlie Pennell, putting the Cougars ahead 1–0.
Momentum stayed with Coastal Bend as Daniel Gallagher, a sophomore midfielder, extended the lead with a composed finish, assisted by Andres Caicedo, making it 2–0. To cap off the performance, Juan Pablo Vargas added the third and final goal of the match, converting on an assist from Gallagher to seal the 3–0 victory.
Back in the win column, the Cougars now hold a record of 11-4 for the season, going 7-1 on their home turf. With the win, Coastal Bend College continues an outstanding Fall 2025 season marked by disciplined defense, balanced attack, and strong team chemistry. The Cougars now turn their focus to the Gulf South District Semifinal, where they'll look to carry their momentum into a high-stakes matchup against Tyler Junior College.
