Becerril Named NJCAA Division III National Pitcher of the Week

For the second consecutive week, the best NJCAA Division III pitcher in the nation hails from Coastal Bend College.  The NJCAA announced today that Marco Becerril - Sophomore out of Spring, Texas - was worthy of being the NJCAA's Division III National Pitcher of the Week courtesy of his shutout performance against NJCAA Division I Laredo Community College.  Becerril threw seven innings of shutout baseball, allowing five hits, one walk while striking out three.

Becerril is now 4-0 on the season.  His award comes on the heels of Michael Dinsdale who took home NPOW honors last week.  He is the third Cougar to be named named National Player of the Week this season, joining Dinsdale, and Ruben Sepulveda who was named NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week earlier this month.
