Bumstead Named NJCAA Division III National Player of the Week

Sepulveda, Dinsdale, Becerril and now Bumstead.  Kyler Bumstead becomes Cougar Baseball's third consecutive player - and fourth overall - to be receive NJCAA Division III's National Player of the Week honors.  The freshman outfielder from Kountze, Texas had an epic week at the plate amassing six doubles, a triple, and a homerun while going 14-21 (.667 batting average).  He knocked in nine runs, while scoring another nine himself as CBC won eight games this past week.  Bumstead joins Rebun Sepulveda as the Cougars who have captured Player of the Week honors, while Michael Dinsdale and Marco Becerril have both received Pitcher of the Week honors.

Bumstead and his fellow Cougars will take to Joe Hunter Field on Saturday to do battle with fellow NJCAA Division III member South Suburban College (IL).  Game time are set for 1:00 and 4:30 pm.
