The Region XIV Directors of Athletics today announced its 2019-2020 Region XIV All-Academic Team today at the Spring Region XIV Meeting in Galveston.  The list includes a program record 18 Cougars from five sports. They are:

Bret Copeland, Kyle McMahan and Justin Gomez from Baseball;  Jullian Colchado,  Joao Lobo Dos Santos, Lucas Paixao, Reis Planson, Emile Rudd, Gabriel Lopes Sezerino, and Max Voelker from Men's Soccer; Amanda Aquirre, Britney Garcia, Vanessa Garces, Myla Longoria, and Brianna McKeel from Softball; Alyssa Estrada and Amber Willis from Volleyball and Anneth Jimenez from Women's Basketball

These 18 joins 268 Student-Athletes competing in 12 sports from 18 Region XIV member schools who met the following standards:

• Must have completed at least 36 hours of college work of courses that leads toward a degree. 
• Must have an accumulative grade point average of 3.25 or better on a 4.0 scale of non-developmental courses only.
• Must have participated in one or more sports recognized by the Region XIV Athletic Conference.

Coastal Bend College received 11 selections during the 2018-2019 academic year.
