The McLennan Highlassies and Coastal Bend Lady Cougars met on the hardwood for the second time in a week, and once again it was the Highlassies coming away with the 94-55 blowout victory.
Jade Bradley began the scoring with a jumper for the Highlassies. The Lady Cougars' Marley Martinez drained a pair of free throws and added a jumper to give Coastal Bend the 4-2 lead with 7:50 minutes to play in the first quarter. McLennan took the lead on a long Kenidi White 3-pointer from the top of the key that started a 13-0 run. The Highlassies tacked on another run, this one of the 7-2 variety to break the game open. McLennan would lead 26-8 at the end of the first. White drained another 3-pointer to start the second quarter and McLennan continued to roll. The Highlassies would head to the locker room leading the Lady Cougars 50-21.
Coastal Bend picked up the scoring in the second half, almost doubling their total in just one period. Yet McLennan still held the advantage after three quarters of play, 76-39. The Highlassies strolled through the fourth quarter with the game well out of reach of the Lady Cougars.
Jade Bradley led the Highlassies with 17 points. Kenidi White and Annya Moss scored 14 points each.
The Highlassies return to action Friday, traveling to Lufkin for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff at Angelina.
