CBC Baseball Swept At Home

Beeville, Tx-  Over the weekend, #5 Coastal Bend College Baseball hosted a familiar foe, in Western Oklahoma State College for a four game series at Joe Hunter Field. The series began on Friday, February 21st for a nine inning ball game.

After starting the game off with four runs in the Top of the 1st, that's all the Pioneers would need to take game one. The Cougars recorded only five hits in the game, with the only score coming from Designated Hitter, Ryan Howell who hit a Solo Homer in the Bottom of the First.

Late in the game, WOSC tacked on an insurance run to lead, 5-1 going into the Bottom of the Ninth. The Cougars would go down swinging as their attempt at a rally came short.

To start the scoring, Coastal Bend drew first blood this time around by scoring two runs in the Bottom of the First inning. The game's next score would again come from the Cougars as they increased their lead to four runs, by adding two scores in the Bottom of the Fourth.

CBC's, Logan Henderson had a no-hit bid going into the Fifth inning. During the frame, the Pioneers bats woke up as they rallied to take the lead. Western Oklahoma would score five runs during the inning.

As the game proceeded to the Seventh inning, the Cougars kept the Pioneers at bay. Headed to the Bottom half of the inning, the Cougars posed a threat to tie up the game but the Pioneers denied CBC of the game tying run, losing 5-4.
