Bauerle Records 150th Win

Beeville, TX-   Coastal Bend College's Head baseball coach, Brian Bauerle records 150th career win. On Thursday, March 17th, the Cougars faced the Buccaneers of Blinn College. Coastal Bend ended up beating the Bucs, 9-5. 

Bauerle began his head coaching tenure during the 2016-2017 school year, going 34-24. The ensuing year in 2017-2018, the Cougars went 35-23. For the 2018-2019 season, Coastal Bend recorded a 27-31 win/loss season. Coastal Bend went 15-11 for the 2019-2020 school year before the season was cut short due to the covid pandemic.

Coastal Bend then went 28-31 for their historic run during the 2020-2021 year. Bauerle etched his name in the record books during the 2021 campaign by winning the schools first regional tournament- The South District West Divisional Tournament and The NJCAA Division III Baseball South District Championship to advance to the NJCAA Junior College World Series in Greenville, Tennessee. The proceeded to win their first game of the NJCAA World Series with a victory over Oakton Community College. Coastal Bend would fall to eventual champions, Tyler Junior College in their next matchup. The Cougars then lost to Niagara County Community College in the contenders bracket, eliminating them from the junior college world series. 

Head Coach, Brian Bauerle on his achievement, " It's a great honor and feat to earn 150 victories. I greatly appreciate all my staff and players that have ever been apart of this baseball program, this is a program achivement that I'm proud to be apart of during the six years that I've been at the helm." 

Coastal Bend currently holds a record of 11-14 the on year, and moves to 3-9 in Region XIV Conference play. As the Cougars are near the halfway mark of the season, Bauerle and the team look to chalk up more W's in the win column in hopes of another postseason run.
