Region XIV Recognizes Three Cougars for Season Accolades
Coastal Bend College Baseball concluded their season with an overall record of 20-34 on the year. The Cougars finished conference play with a 9-26 record. Earlier this week, the Region XIV - South Division Coaches voted on All Conference players for the 2023 Spring Baseball Season. 
 
Sophomore, First Baseman, Eric Martinez was named All-Conference First team. Martinez competed in 53 ball games for CBC during his final campaign. The Edinburg native hit for .331 on the season while knocking out a team leading, 16 Home Runs and 63 RBI's. Martinez also scored 37 runs for the Cougars this past season. 
 
Sophomore, Left-Handed Pitcher, Cobe Reeves was named to the Second All-Conference Team. Reeves toed the rubber 14 times this spring for the Cougars. The Ingleside native won four games and pitched a total of 78 and two thirds of an inning, striking out 102 opposing batters. Reeves possessed a 5.61 ERA for his final season at Coastal Bend. 
 
Freshman Outfielder, Matthew Brooks was also named to the Second All-Conference Team as a Designated Hitter. The Round Rock native competed in 43 games for the Cougars this year, batting .328. He also recorded 21 RBI's with 1 Home Run, while crossing the plate for 29 runs.
