Amos, Madden and Franklin Named All Region XIV

Sophomores Malik Amos, Dajuan Madden and Edmond Franklin have all been named to the Men's Basketball All Region XIV - South by vote of the Region's South Division Coaches.  The three selections in a single season is a program record.  Amos and Madden each received All-Region XIV - South Second Team honors while Franklin was named All-Region XIV - South Honorable Mention.

Amos a sophomore from Missouri City and Provision Academy led the Cougars and was among the Region leaders in Points Per Game; averaging 19.5.  He scored in double digits 20 times this season, and 20+ points on 15 occasions including 40 versus Victoria College back on November 20th.  He ended the season with 506 points.

Madden a sophomore from Belair, Maryland and Patterson Mill High School was Mr. Steady for the Cougars this season.  He failed to score in double figures in only one of the 25 games in which he played.  He scored a season high 26 versus Paris Junior College on January 5th.  His 76 steals is school record and allowed him to lead the Region and was ranked among the leaders in the country in that defensive category.

Franklin a sophomore from Willowridge High School in Houston was a force in the paint for the Cougars.  He was among the Region and Nations leaders in Blocked Shots Per Game with 3.9 and a total of 101 rejections.

All three are mulling over multiple four-year school offers to determine their best fit for continuing the playing and academic careers.
