Blinn College Ends Cougar Basketball Season at Region XIV Championships

The Coastal Bend College Men's Basketball team played their last game of the season on Thursday, March 5th. In the Quarterfinals of the Region XIV Conference Basketball Tournament when they faced the Blinn College Buccaneers.  As soon as the Basketball was tipped off, the Cougars took a small lead. The Bucs would rally from the deficit and claim the lead as CBC had trouble making shots. Coastal Bend trailer at halftime, 24-36.

In the second half, it would be more of the same result for the Cougars. Shots did not fall and defensive lapses dug CBC into a deeper hole. Coastal Bend fought hard until the end, but it was not enough to spring up a victory. The Cougars fell, 66-89 to Blinn.

Coastal Bend was led by Emmanuel White, who scored game high, 27 points while recording seven rebounds, two steals, two assists. Point Guard, Lance-Amir Paul netted 10 points, five assists and two rebounds for the game. Sophomore Center, Elijah Moleon added in 10 points for the Cougars. CBC Guard, Desmond McNiel shot 50% from deep, going three of six tallying 10 points off the bench.

Coastal Bend Men's Basketball completes their season with a 12-19 overall record while going 5-14 in conference play under first-year Head Coach, Marcus Thompson.
