The Cougars traveled to the Lions Den in Dallas to play a gritty Mountainview team Friday night. The Lions dominated both sides of the floor for most of the game as their tenacity set the stage for a nail biter to the finish. A late run to make up a 5 point deficit helped push the game into overtime tied at 70.

 

The Cougars took advantage of the extra period outscoring the Lions 9-5 to take home the win, 79-75. "The gym was rocking tonight. Coach Phillips had his guys locked in and the student section made it a really intense atmosphere. I thought our guys found their composure late and it was enough to escape with a win" quoted the Cougars Interim Head Coach Brandon Martinez after the game. 

 

The Cougars were led by Sophomore Jeremiah Anderson who had 20. Reyce Allen added 12 ans Trey Swayzer chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. 

 

Coastal Bend will travel to San Antonio on Tuesday for a re-match with Our Lady of the Lake Development team.
