CBC Drops Their First Game of the Season 74-78

Tuesday night the Cougars traveled to San Antonio for a rematch against the OLLU Development team. Their first encounter was the home opener on November 1st in The Den were the Cougars were victorious playing against a 6 man roster. The November 7th re-match the Saints came with a fully loaded roster of 15 men and they proceeded to turnover the Cougars 21 times enroute to a 74-78 victory.

The Cougars had 4 guys reach double digits but fell short to remain undefeated. Sophomore Ryan Moore led the Cougars with 15. Reyce Allen had 14 points to go with 6 boards. Caleb Hill added 12 points and 6 assists while Trey Swayzer added 11.

The Cougars shot the ball well, shooting 45% from the 3 point line and 52% overall from the field but it wasn't enough to overcome their lack of focus possessing the ball. "We just didn't come to San Antonio locked in. Guys couldn't catch a pass tonight. I'm very dissapointed in that aspect. Ball control in something we are fully in charge of and we dropped the ball on that literally. We'll figure it out before conference play" stated Interim Coach Brandon Martinez after the game.

The loss moves Coastal Bend to 2-1 on their year. They will host Concordia JV on Thursday 11/9.
