Brandon Martinez comes to Coastal Bend College from Houston, Texas. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Houston with a bachelor's in history and Kinesiology. He started his coaching career at Lone Star College as a volunteer assistant coach in 2011 under Larry Norris. There, he helped Lone Star elevate numerous athletes to 4-year colleges which led to an opportunity to take a position with Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2013 as a Graduate Assistant. While in Kingsville he juggled all the responsibilities necessary to run a Division II University program ranging from film breakdown, camp director, equipment management, Director of Basketball Operations, Sports Information Director, Fundraising Director as well as game day and practice coach. As Fundraising Director, he helped organize the largest fundraising event in TAMUK Men’s Basketball history, "Live the Dream”. This event earned TAMUK the Award of Excellence by the Lone Star Conference and was a Finalist for the NCAA Community Service Award.

After leaving TAMUK he began coaching high school basketball and for the last seven years he has been blessed to be a part of several winning programs making stops at Aldine Davis, Klein Forest, Huntsville, and most recently Oak Ridge. During his time as a high school coach, he has helped win several district championships as well as elevate the communities surrounding those programs pioneering youth leagues at each stop. In 2020, while in Huntsville, he was named as a finalist for the 5A Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches after helping lead the Hornets to a record breaking 48 district wins in a row and 75 wins in three years, along with three District Assistant Coach of the Year awards. His notable work in the community as well as his leadership and energy on the court is what led Martinez to us here in Beeville.

Martinez served as the CBC Assistant Men's Basketball coach for the 2022-23 campaign. As of August 2023, he has been appointed the Interim Head Coach of the basketball program.
