Men's Soccer Falls to Tyler in Region XIV Semifinals 5-0

Maybe it was the below freezing temperatures, maybe it was the second playoff game in a week - this time on the road - or maybe it was Tyler Junior College's defensive intensity; but either way the Coastal Bend College Men's Soccer team was cold offensively on Saturday night when they tangled with the 4th ranked Tyler Junior College Apaches in Tyler.

The Cougars and the Apaches battled throughout the first half of the Region XIV Semifinal Contest.  CBC could only must three shots with one on goal; but their defense was brilliant as they were able to hold TJC to only a single goal - coming 12 minutes into the contest.  The second half, was much different story.  The Apache half-time adjustments found their mark, as they pressed the battle into the Cougar defensive zone again and again racking up 12 second half shots and netting four goals to help TJC advance to the NJCAA National Championship District tournament being held next weekend in Mississippi.

The Cougars wrap their 2017 campaign with a 12-7 mark, capturing their second consecutive winning season and Region XIV Semi-Final appearance.  The Cougars will be looking for even bigger things in 2018, as they graduate only two sophomores from the current roster.
