Adam Butler Named CBC Men's Soccer Head Coach

Coastal Bend College President, Dr. Beatrice Espinoza today announced the hiring of Adam Butler as the Cougar's new Head Men's Soccer Coach.   Butler comes to Beeville having spent the last seven years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma area.  He is a 2015 and 2018 graduate of Southwestern Christian University (BS – Health and Physical Education; MA – Global and Christian Leadership).  While at Southwest Christian, Butler was standout for the Eagles earning Sooner Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference honors in 2014 and 2015, National Soccer Coaches Association of American All-Region Second Team 2014.  Butler because SCU's first NAIA All American in 2015.

Butler's biggest impact on the SCU program came after he hung up his boots.  As the top assistant coach the Eagles went on a tear as the team captured the 2016, 2017 and 2018 National Christian College Athletic Association National Champions while posting a 54-14-7 record.  The London, England native played professionally with the Vermont Voltage, Laredo Heat, and Mississippi Brilla, before serving as an assistant with the UPSL's Oklahoma City Imps.  Butler holds a USSF National C Coaching License.

Butler will be taking over a Cougar program that finished the 2018 season 8-10-1 reaching the play-offs for the sixth consecutive season; and replaces Brian Byrd who resigned in December to accept the Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coaching positions at the University of Arkansas – Rich Mountain.
