Soccer Sweeps Series With Tyler

The Coastal Bend College Soccer team continues to make school history.  However, this notation maybe the most improbable - a road when over six time NJCAA National Champions Tyler Junior College on Tuesday night 4-3.  The win marks a program first as a win on the road versus TJC; but more importantly CBC sweeps the series with the Apaches for the first time in school history.  The win also makes the third victory for the Cougars over a nationally ranked opponent after beating #13 Northeast Texas, #3 Tyler, and now #11 Tyler.

Sophomore Gabriel Campora got the Cougars on the board for the first time as he converted a penalty kick.  Just like the last victory, it the Thomases two who once again proved to be a thorn in the side of the Apaches as Thomas Williams and Owen Thomas each found the back of the net, with the winning goal coming off a corner kick.

Freshman Harry Scott picked up his fourth win of the season in goal, including both wins over the Apaches.

The Cougars are back in action on Friday, when they host Jacksonville College at 3:00 pm.  The Jaguars knocked off the Cougars 1-0 in Jacksonville back on April 14th.
