Dallas, Tx-  This past weekend marked the official start of the Coastal Bend College Soccer season. Richland College, the current NJCAA National DIII Champion, hosted Coastal Bend College and Mountain View College in Dallas, TX.

On Friday, August 26th, Coastal Bend played their first game of the season against Richland College. The Cougars held off the host team's chances and created the best chances in the first half with Giancarlo Pretto and Baillie O'Reilly. However, Richland came back in the second half, creating more chances and taking them, winning 3-0.

On Saturday, Coastal Bend won their first game of the season by defeating Mountain View 5-0. The Cougars learned from their mistakes and imposed their style of play early and continued to dominate in the second half. Tyler Stallard netted the ball twice, while teammates Felipe Rangel, Elijah Payne and Daichi Saito all notched one goal each. 

Coastal Bend College enhanced to 1-1 on the season with the weekend's final game. The Cougars will begin Region XIV Conference play with a match against Northeast Texas Community College on Saturday, September 3rd at 12:00 PM in Mount Pleasant, Tx.
