Beeville, TX–   Coastal Bend College defeated Northeast Texas Community College 1-0 in a Region 14 Conference match on Saturday, October 1st at Cougar Soccer Field. The Cougars improve to 4-4-2 overall and 3-3-2 in conference play.

Ivan Perez scored for the Cougars in the 16th minute. Ivan, a sophomore from Barcelona, Spain, scored his third goal this season. Perez has 7 points on the season (3 goals and 1 assist). Mario Hurtado's brilliant assist was instrumental in the Cougars victory. Hurtado has three points this season (one goal and one assist).

The Cougars had 10 shots, five of which were on goal, compared to Northeast Texas' five shots and one on goal. Northeast Texas' goalkeeper made three saves, while Gian Zetzmann made one. Both teams had two corner kicks each and 33 fouls combined.

UP NEXT: The Cougars Soccer Team returns to action on Tuesday, October 4th. CBC will host Paris Junior College with the conference match set to kickoff at 12:00 PM.
