Cougars Reel Off Third Straight Victory with Win Over Jaguars

Jacksonville, Tx- On Saturday, October 8th, the Coastal Bend College men's soccer team defeated the Jacksonville College Jaguars, 2-0 on the road. The Cougars improve to 6-4-2 overall and 5-3-2 in Region XIV play, while the Jaguars fall to 6-6 overall and 5-5 in the conference.

Shane O'Riordan and Jack Bledowski scored Coastal Bend College goals at the end of the game. Shane O'Riordan scored in the 83rd minute after a great delivery by Elijah Payne. This was O'Riordan's first goal of the season, and it was Elijah Payne's first assist. Payne now has five points in the Region 14 Leaders with two goals and one assist. Jack Bledowski scored the second goal five minutes later, thanks to a brilliant assist from Daichi Saito. This was their first goal and assist of the season, respectively -

The Cougars had 15 shots, eight of which were on target, compared to Jacksonville's nine shots, five of which were on target. Gian Zetzmann made five saves while Jacksonville's goalkeeper had eight. Both teams committed 11 fouls, and the Cougars had nine corners to Jacksonville's two.
