Coastal Bend College couldn't keep up with UHV and fell 7-0 on Friday.

UHV got on the board in the first inning after Lopez grounded out, scoring one run.

UHV added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Blinka grounded out, and Jones singled, each scoring one run.

Sophia Garza stepped in the circle first for Coastal Bend College. The righty gave up 12 hits and seven runs over five and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three.

Janessa Martinez led Coastal Bend College with one hit in three at-bats. CBC turned one double play in the game, and did not commit a single error in the field.

UHV accumulated 14 hits in the game. Blinka went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead UHV in hits. Lopez and Blinka were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for UHV. Layton, Jones, and Chambers each collected multiple hits for UHV. Ortega paced UHV with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting five walks, and piling up three stolen bases in the game.
