Janice Corona Shows Power in a CBC Loss to Midland

Beeville, TX- Janice Corona hit two home runs and drove in three, but the Cougars still found the loss against the Chaps.

 

Coastal Bend opened the scoring in the first after Corona hit a solo home run to left field.

 

The Chaps took the lead in the bottom of the first. Bradley homered to left field, scoring three runs, to give Midland the leg up, 3-1.

 

Midland scored one more run in the bottom of the second on a solo homerun to left field.

 

Corona homered to left field, scoring two runs in the top of the sixth for the Cougars.

Coastal Bend scored two more runs in the top of the seventh on a home run to center field by Jaymie Gonzales.

Sophia Garza stepped in the circle first for Coastal Bend. Garza gave up six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two and walking four. Lovato started in the circle for the Chaps. They gave up six hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking one.
