Beeville, TX- Coastal Bend College defeated Clarendon College 12-1 on Friday thanks in part to 10 runs in the third inning. Sophia Garza doubled, scoring one run, Liana Urbano singled, scoring one run, Briannah Mejias singled, scoring one run, Kaydence Benitez singled, scoring two runs, Jocelynne Martinez doubled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Garza doubled, scoring two runs.

A ground out by Benitez put CBC on the board in the bottom of the second.

Ashley Gaitan opened the game for the Cougars. The starter allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Cabral led things off for Clarendon. The righty surrendered 12 hits and 12 runs (six earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking one.

Coastal Bend collected 12 hits in the game. Urbano, Mejias, Garza, and Benitez each collected two hits for the Cougars. Garza led the team with three runs batted in and going 2-for3 on the day.
