Cougar Women's Basketball "Dynamic Duo" of guards Samantha Atkinson-Roach and Darias Whittington have been named All-Region XIV Honorable Mention by the region's women's basketball coaches as announced at the conclusion of the Region XIV Championship Tournament in Jacksonville.  

Atkinson-Roach, from Taylor High School in Katy, Texas led the Cougars in scoring with 405 total points, scored double digit points in 21 of 30 games including her season high of 29 vs. Bossier Parish on January 27th  She and Whittington shared the points per game lead for the Cougars; each averaging 14 per contest.  She will end her career with 691 total points scored in the Columbia and Navy.

Whittington out of Corpus Christi's Mary Carroll High School scored 309 total points including 15 times scoring in double digits.  Whittington dropped in 27 versus Paris Junior College on December 6th.   Whittington's 2017-2018 campaign was cut short due to a season ending shoulder injury on January 29th; still she finishers her CBC career with 521 total points scored.

Both players are engaged in the recuriting process and have high hopes to continue their playing and academic careers at the next level.
