Beeville, Tx-   The Cougars hosted the Odessa College Wranglers on Friday, January 3rd for a non-conference contest.Following a conference loss to Bossier Parish Community College a few days earlier, the Coastal Bend College Women's Basketball team aimed for a better performance in their Home Opener for the New Year. 

Coastal Bend started the game off by outscoring Odessa in the first quarter, 17-19. In the second quarter, the Wranglers kicked it up a notch in the scoring department to lead the Cougars at intermission, 36-30. 

To begin the second half of the contest, both teams exchanged buckets, each scoring 19 points in the third quarter. The Wranglers maintained a six point lead heading into the fourth quarter, 55-49. Lightning would strike twice, as Odessa produced another strong scoring output to finish the game.

The Wranglers scored 23 points in the fourth quarter, compared to the Cougars 16. Coastal Bend ended up losing by a final score of 78-65.

CBC's next game will be at Home on Wednesday, January 8th as they host Blinn College in the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center. Tip-Off is at 5:30 PM.
