Cougar Volleyball Beats Pioneers

Beeville, Tx- Coastal Bend College volleyball team played Wharton County Junior College last night in a 5 game set. The Cougars went on to beat the Pioneers three sets to two; 25-19, 18-25, 25-16, 22-25, 15-12, moving them to 8-4 on the season.

Head Coach, Macy Olness on the WCJC match, " We played a hard fought battle against our conference rival, our freshmen stepped up and our sophomores led the way for us. We're ready to face them again at the Lee College Volleyball Invitational on Friday. We're really starting to come together as a team and how to be successful as a unit. We have a lot of work to do, and know what we need to work on in order to compete in this conference." 

NOTABLES • CBC Setter, Meadow Rodriguez led the team with 27 assists • Cameron Del Angel led the team with 12 kills • Alyssa Hutcheson produced 30 digs for match • Samantha Santos produced 13 assists while recording 11 digs •  Jodi Linscomb with 10 kills and two solo blocks • Emma Batte had nine kills, two solo blocks and one assisted block. 

UP NEXT Coastal Bend heads to Baytown, Tx on Friday and Saturday for the Lee College Invitational. The Cougars take on Mountain View College at 9:00 AM and Wharton County Junior College at 3:00 PM on Friday, September, 13th. Action kicks back up on Saturday morning when they take on Odessa College at 9:00 AM and Cedar Valley at 3:00 PM.
