Renata Dominguez becomes the first member of the Volleyball class of '22 to sign with a four-year program.  The high flying, sophomore, middle hitter will be taking her offensive and defensive prowess to the University of St. Mary's.  The University of Saint Mary is a Catholic co-educational applied liberal arts university founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. The University of Saint Mary main campus is located at 4100 South 4th Street, Leavenworth, Kan. Spire Athletics is comprised of 28 teams, competes in the NAIA, and is a member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.   They finished the 2021 season with a 22-10 record.

Dominguez was a two-time All-Region XIV Honorable Mention Selection for the Cougars in the Spring of '21 and Fall of '21 seasons, leading the team in blocking in both seasons.  The Bay City native will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Spires, while she pursues her studies in Pre-Medicine.

USM Head Volleyball Coach, Amy Beal who will enter her 7th season at the Spire helm this fall had this to say about her new middle, "We are thrilled to have Renata join our Spire Family! Not only is she a very talented athlete, she's also an incredible person.  Her athleticism will allow her to make an immediate impact for us and we are excited to see how she will continue to develop and grow.
