Waco, Tx-  The Coastal Bend Cougars faced McLennan Community College for the second time in five days, this time at Highlander Gym in Waco. Last Thursday, both clubs met at the Coastal Bend Classic, MCC besting CBC, 80 to 54.

Coastal Bend lead briefly in the first quarter, after Marley Martinez scored the team's first four points to lead, 4-2. After that, McLennan went on a 13-0 run and never looked back. The Highlassies ended up winning the quarter, 26-8.

In the second quarter, CBC played better, but MCC continued to play at a high pace. At halftime, the Cougars found themselves down, 21-50.

For the third quarter, Coastal Bend had a better display on the court, as they continued to play hard and saw more shots fall through the net. McLennan widened the gap just a bit more, leading CBC 39-76.

To finish out the game, the Cougars were only outscored by two points in the final frame, but the damage was already done. The Highlassies ran away with the game, beating Coastal Bend 94-55.

Martinez finished the contest with 17 points to lead CBC in scoring. She also recorded three rebounds, two assists and three steals on the evening. Aneth Jimenez poured in 12 points off the bench for Coastal Bend. 

The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday, November 26th as they will travel to Temple, Tx and face Temple College at 5:30 PM.
